Random Thought...

While reading an interview with Naveen Andrews (of the greatest show on TV..LOST) over at E!.com's Watch With Kristen section I got to thinking after this question....

Steve Jones, the former Sex Pistol, guided you to your first AA meeting. How did you get to know him?

I met him at a dinner party in L.A., and I was shocked to meet somebody who had been in that band who was not completely drugged out. I found that really intriguing, and it made me think, "If he's done it, then maybe I've got a chance."--Naveen Andrews

My thought is....what does that second "A" stand for in AA?

Lost pt.2

Oh...holy shit this show rocks!! Damn the six month wait.

Of time traveling bunnies

"Was he talking about what I think he was?"

"If you mean time traveling bunnies...then yes."

Lost is freaking awesome...I can't wait till January.

It's On...

I really hate myself right now. It has been a screwed up week to say the least!

Friday, my great aunt Barb died, and the computer at work Crashed AGAIN.

Monday, Audio Card on the Sat. system at the Radio Station died...AGAIN.

Tuesday-Now, Scott Studio system has a full on system crash!

To make matters worse I have to work tonight.

For the past three and a half years that wasn't a big deal...but now I have to kick around at work pretending to care about what is going on...just so I can run home and hope that I can download the new Episode of Lost (since I forgot to set my DVR).

It's a strange feeling to not care about a show for four years then being all pissed that I am going to have to wait a few extra hours to watch said show! I guess I will have to fill my time with a little Nash Bridges! lol...

The Way Home...

New addiction...same as the old addiction (with a twist)!

Since I finally got caught up on Lost last week I decided that I needed something to take up the six hour slot I had been using for Lost...so what does a guy do? He drops $40 on a new xbox game.

So, I ran out and scooped up a copy of Lost: Via Domus (the way home)

Overall I would rate it an okay game so far. The one problem I have with it is that the amount of load screens is obscene! A better flow on the game would make it 10 times better. But, for a fan of the show it is not a bad game.

Well worth the cash to help fill the downtime between episodes.

OK...now I'm LOST..

I really hate myself right now! I decided to take matters into my own hands and get caught up on season four of LOST prior to this weeks new episode....

Only one tiny problem...this weeks episode isn't new! Now I have to wait a full eleven days until the goodness returns.

On the bright side I can now have a conversation about the show with people who have recently decided that they weren't going to talk LOST until I was up-to-date!

To this point of the season I have a few observation: Everything cool about almost everything can, in one form or another, trace back to LOST.

Case in point...Nash Bridges!

Now you may be asking yourself how does a bad (ass) late 90's cop drama connect to LOST...well the answer is two fold. First, and most obviously, is Cheech Marin! Who starred with Don Johnon on Nash Bridges, and had a guest star turn as Hurley's dad....

Second, and more impressivly, is Carlton Cuse, who was a writter and executive producer on both shows! That's right...one of the brilliant minds behind LOST is also one of the Brilliant minds behind Nash Bridges ... Gotta love that!

Point Two...LOST and Air Force One (and Nash Bridges)

Andrew Divoff....he's been playing movie badasses for a long time and I can't help of think that if they feel the need to extend the Die Hard franchise he would be a perfect fit...oh and did I mention he is going to be in the new Indiana Jones movie?

Point Three -- every other fantastic Guest Star...just a few of my favorites:

Zoe Bell -- Small part so far...but she kicked total ass in Death Proof
Billy Dee Williams -- again very small part...but he was playing Billy Dee "Freakin" Williams
Nathan Fillion -- Buffy, Firefly and LOST...my new hero!
Sonya Walger -- Who I first fell in love with while watching Librarian: Quest for the Spear, and I even like her in the American version of Coupling (Abomination that it was)
Jon Gries -- I still want to see The Pretender back on TV in reruns (so I don't have to buy yet another TV series!)
Jeff Fahey -- Enough bad movies to choke a horse (and Nash Bridges too)

Great writing, great acting, and an agonizing Title sequence...Grrr...the good news is that NBC has added an extra Hour to the seson finale. Story

TV's Longest 12 Seconds

Lost's opening title sequence has to be the longest 12 seconds in television!

Watching the DVD's I can't help but fast forward at this point....it's just slows down the viewing TOO much.

On the bright side...after tonight I will be able to start season four on Sunday and should be up-to-date when the next new episode hits!

Relapse..

Dear Island Gods....

Please forgive me it, it has been a month since my last LOST viewing! I promise to never wait that long again (unless there are no new episodes to be had!).

Ok, so I am now eight episodes into season three....and I am still very confused! Atleast now I have, what I think, is a good handle on the Polar Bear problem. But, still...freaky stuff!

Oh, and can I say that I LOVE Elizabeth Mitchell? Is that ok?

Now sadly I am back to having to block out six hours a night to be able to Catch up!...

Only four more discs for season three then it's on to the DVR for this season.

LOST! Now what?

So I have finally made it through the second season of Lost! Now the only thing that is going through my head is, "do I want to stay awake for another three hours to watch another disc?"

Not a good dilema to have at 2 am!

Still so many questions!!! At this pace, and with the weekend off, I should be current by next weeks episode. I can't wait to be able to talk to people about the show! Or, at the least, visit a few websites!!

Of Polar Bears and Smoke Monsters...

An open letter to my friends who watch Lost:

I am Sorry!

I have, for years now, made fun of you! Wispered strange things about you and "your show"! I take it all back.

It seems that what started out as a vendetta to stay away from the new "it" show has led me to be about four years behind the curve. Usually, I feel I have made the right choice in situations like this in the past: All reality tv, American Idol, anything with a host who wasn't Regis Philbin, Bob Barker, or Drew Carey...for the most part I have stuck to my guns, and I was right!

But, here I have to digress and say in the immortal words of Denis Leary....oops! I fucked up! Please forgive me for my misguided ways! That being said...I am now officially scared to see any animal out of it's normal habitat. Polar Bears on a freakin' Tropical Island! Seriously what is more freaky that that I ask you? Maybe the paralyzed walking or a fat guy who, on a deserted island with little or no food, lose no weight ( P.S. I want to be Hurley! 156 Million aside).

So there you have it...I have officially become one of the Lost....rather than on of the "others"... and sadly I am not far enough into the series to know what that MEANS!!!

OK, Thanks go out to Chris for loaning me his first and third seasons! Levi for returning the second season to Chris just in time for him to loan it to me...Chris again for getting me season two in a timely fashion! And to Laryngitis, whithout which I am not sure I would have had the motivation to sit down and actually watch season one over the course of two days!

Again...I am sorry.

Yours,
James

P.S. This letter brought to you by the numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 and 42
(oddly...posted at 1:08pm!!)

WoW!! I'm Speechless (for a few reasons)

So, with the voice not back yet I decided to watch a ton of tv this weekend...thank you Chris for hookin' me on the Smack that is Lost!

And thank you PBS for introducing me to Tal Wilkenfeld, by way of Jeff Beck, by way of Eric Clapton's 2007 Crossroads Concert! By the way...she was 21 at the time of the concert...and girl can rip!
