Rock Band....

IS EVIL

Not evil in the root of all...or even the fruits of the devil evil. BUT, evil none the less.

Now what has brought me to this conclusion. Well, the large amounts of children spending "hard earned" money to purchase the new ROCK band 2 with it's wireless-y goodness wasn't proof enough. I can across the newest accessory the other day...

It is a fantastic Light Show/Fog Machine in a box!Share photos on twitter with Twitpic

So sad...so sad...so sad. Yet I still kinda want to see it in action!

Random thoughts...

I need to take more pictures so I can justify paying the cost to renew my flickr account!!

I guess that is what vacations and random trips to cool places are for!

Strange thought..

Not sure why I am thinking of this...but since I moved to Arizona I have dropped from a Fat and Sassy 300lbs to a less fat (but no less sassy) 280lbs. Since then I have realized a life long goal...

Pants and no BELT.

Not sure if it's the weight loss or just a really good pair of jeans. But, I like it..and I am still a little scared by it at the same time.

Life is a highway...

And man are there a lot of accidents on that road!

I always new that accidents happen...and happen...and happen! But the amazing variety of situation is what I really enjoy! (in a morbid rubber-neck the crash scene sort of way!)

Personal Update!

Ok..so a lot has happened since the last time I blogged! Granted none of it has been important!

I am now gainfully employeed, full time, at Progressive Insurance here in sunny Phoenix AZ. So far so good. I don't think I have jacked anything up yet! But, it's early!

I have been reading again. Which is a nice break from past tradition! I have found myself revisiting a tried and true stand-by... CHRISTOPHER MOORE.

I have recently read (or Reread)

Lamb: The gospel according to Biff, Christ's boyhood pal
Island of the Sequined Love Nun
Practical Deamon Keeping
A Dirty Job
lust lizard of melancholy cove
The Stupidest Angel: A Heartwarming Tale of Christmas Terror

and I am getting ready to read:
Fluke
You SUCK
and coming November 10th, 2009 FOOL

So...yeah...not a whole lot going on!

4 movies in 4 days

So down time has allowed me to see four movies in the last 4 days. Got to say it was grand.

The dark knight -- Batman is still a badass!
step brothers -- Will Ferrell and Joh C. Riley have never Bern funnier
The mummy 3 -- still a fun franchise!
X-Files -- I enjoyed it...but I am not a super fan of the series. So I have no idea if it was a worthy addition to the cannon!

Up in Smoke...

"Cheech & Chong: Light Up America ..." will hit 22 cities in the United States starting with Philadelphia on September 12 and ending in Denver, Colorado, on December 20. In between they will play Los Angeles, Miami, Washington, D.C. and other places.
All I have to say is THANK YOU JESUS!!!

Saturday, August 02, 2008

So, if you are 99.9% positive you are supposed to be at work at 6am and no one else is the at 6:20am which of the following is most likely to be true? You are the only person who is on time? You are wrong and you were supposed to be at work at 6pm? You subconsciously wanted to be up at 5am "just because"?

Enjoy the coolness...

Robin Hood...

Just another reason that the BBC is better than American Television!

I guess the phrase better late than never applies here. I am only three years late in getting in on this great show. But, now I have a ton of catching up to do!

cubs...lose

so the cubs colapse over the last two innings and lose 9-2!

On the bright side (if there is one) we all got free taco bell! If we could have struck out once more we would have gotten a free thirst buster from circle K.

Now it's time to fight traffic back home. Gotta get up at 5am to get to work!! Not looking forward to that.

More of Mos Def

As I said earlier I am on a serious Mos Def Kick right now! So here are two videos I found over at youtube of Mos Def and Kanye West Freestyling...

Blackstar

Definitions

Currently I'm....

Listening to a lot of different albums on constant rotation! My six disc changer in my car looks like....
1) Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins -- Rabbit Fur Coat
2) The Watson Twins -- Fire Songs
3) Motley Crue -- Saints of Los Angeles
4) Black Star (Mos Def/Talib Kweli) -- Black Star
5) Flobots -- Fight With Tools
6) Mos Def -- The New Danger

Watching a lot of TV...
Top Five shows I am watching now are...
1) Burn Notice (welcome back!)
2) Top Gear (BBC car show that kicks ass)
3) Psych (just caught up with season two in time for season three)
4) Reaper (glad that I have all of season one recorded...love this show! Can't wait for the new season!)
5) Cash in the Attic (damn you BBC America!)

Reading...
Well, I am trying to find time to read. When I do find time I have started two books.
1) A Clockwork Orange -- Anthony Burgess
2) The Sin City Graphic Novels (not really a book...but it has nice pictures)

Oh...and I have fallen in love with a little website....

Doctor Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

The Brainchild of Joss "can do no wrong" Wheadon stars Neil Patrick Harris (NPH for those in the know) and Wheadon alum Nathan Fillion. Check it out...funny stuff!

I'm Back..

So after taking a little over a week off...I am back.

I have finally settled into life in Arizona. Things I have learned so far:

1) It's Fracking hot here! (dry heat or not)

2) Water is your friend...no seriously!

3) Rain is a funny thing here.
We had a storm the other day that knocked the power out for a few hours. The storm, by Illinois standards was NOTHING. Here though it was a severe storm warning seek shelter or you may die type of storm.

4) I can't wait to be golfing in the middle of "winter". (should be fun)

All in all the move has fine, the transition is going well, and I haven't burned yet! But, then again I haven't been in the pool in the middle of the day yet either!

A night at the inn...

So, the nght at Joshua Tree is a memory! At least I have pictures again.

Only two changes since last year..this time it was me and my buddy Ryan (the man who introduced me to Gram Parsons) was along for the ride. It was nice to share the experience with someone who understood the importance of the room. Not saying that dad didn't get it ... but it was just a trip to the park and an old hotel room.

The other difference was Billy! Billy rocks! Sorry to say that we got Billy in trouble with his girlfriend.

We talked Gram, history, music, world events...oh and he got my Monty Python "huge tracts of land" comment.

All in all a great evening...gas scare aside!

She and Him

Change is hard -- Live on the Craig Ferguson Show

Jenny Lewis -- Then and Now!

From the Wizard!!!

New Video for "Rise up with Fists"

The Wizard...

All things in life eventually come back full circle. You have a crush on a star when you are young...eventually that person will find a way to invade your life later! You love a movie or tv show as a kid, hopefully, if you are lucky, it will return to you in some form.

Right now I am just a little geeked over this... my brand spanking new copy of 1989's geatest piece of cinema...THE WIZARD

Hard to believe it was almost 20 years ago that Universal Studios teamed up with Nintendo to bring us an hour and a half commercial on why the Nintendo was cool!

Two words for you: POWER GLOVE!!! (For the record about $15 will get you a power glove on ebay.)

Why do I love this movie so? Partly because it was the movie that told you..."if you play your video games a lot, and get real good, you could win money some day!" Sadly that didn't work out so hot for me!

But, there is also the fact that Jenny Lewis (via the Wizard) was one of my first on screen crushes!! ah....

Sadly it wasn't until recently that I learned her name! But, I do remember watching this move as a 10year old and thinking, "Wow! those games look cool! Hey, if I have to like a girl....that girl would be pretty cool!"

She could hustle at video games...she had a bunch of truck driver friends to protect her virtue!("That man touched my Breast!"...funniest line in the movie!") oh..and she is cute too!

Now I think it is a really funny that I have found a copy of this movie to slide into my collection. I think though that I will have to put it in a place of honor next to one of my favorite CD's right now....Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins (Rabbit Fur Coat).

Yes, little Jenny Lewis has grown up to be a damn fine singer, This album is fantastic from start to finish!

Oh, and on a side note the Watson Twins have a new cd out called Fire Songs also a great purchase!

I have been mildly obsessed with this album since my buddy Ryan turned me on to her about a year or so ago! Now to have this connection to something I loved as a child!...I can't contain myself!

Now if only I could meet her in person...I think I would die (happy)! So, Jenny...if you are reading this...Call me, send me an email, stop by the house in Phoenix!

D.W.B--part 2

Goodbye Illinois!

Hello Missouri ... Final stop for the day should be Oklahoma City. Really need to find a Best Buy since I just broke my power inverter. Sadly that means I can't listen to the 20,000 songs on my hard drive!

Right now I have a 90's retro weekend show on. Don't know if that is really cool or if it makes me sad that the 90's are considered "retro"!

hello new Salem

We are now in New Salem, illinois...population 12 (and a dog named colin) bonus points if you actually got the Blackadder reference!

Tomorrow it's off to Oklahoma City by way of St. Louis! 13 hours on the road is going to suck my soul!!!

D.W.B

D.W.B-- Diving while bloging

By any standards a dumb thing to do! But, here I am doing it anyway! Never claimed to be bright!

So far the trip had consisted of me listening to the new Watson Twins cd (Fire Songs)...and the new Motley Crue cd (Saints of Los Angeles)!

FYI---the crüe still rock!

Goodbye -- Illinois

As of this hour....I am on the road heading out of Illinios into the sunset (ARIZONA).

I guess there is no turning back now! Well...there is turning back..but why would I want to!?

Safe at Home...

Just booked my room back at the Joshua Tree Inn for this summer!

I am looking forward to spending another night in Room 8....the Gram Parsons room.

This time I will have my buddy Ryan (AKA the man who introduced me to Gram) along for the ride!

All I can say is...it will be sweet!

Crash Landing...

Since I will be gone at the end of this week for a few days on the road and won't be able to update the site more than a few live blogs...here is the D-Bag Winner. Really...it's just because he made me laugh!

Associated Press
Alton, Texas Monday, June 23

Authorities say an inmate trying to flee a Texas city jail crashed through the ceiling into a police chief's empty office.

Police say 17-year-old Jesus Albert Suarez Chavez and 22-year-old Roman Orozco Martinez tried to escape through air conditioning ducts of the Alton city jail around 3 a.m. Saturday, but had been spotted by a dispatcher monitoring security video.

One of the inmates fell through the ceiling into the office of Police Chief Baldemar Flores. The second inmate was trying to get into the vent.

Flores said he didn't know which inmate fell through the ceiling, only that the vents were very small.

Chavez and Martinez are charged with burglary of a vehicle, evading arrest, resisting arrest, assault on a public servant and making a terrorist threat. They are now being held in the Hidalgo County Jail.

A jail official says no attorneys are listed for the pair

Monday, June 16, 2008

OK...I'm confused...

Most of the other shows I have found do seem to have some point....not this one!!

NUTS!

In and effort to prepare for the upcoming "I Survived a Japanese Game Show" I have decided to post one clip a day from some of my favorite shows...God Bless YouTube.

First up...a show that seems to be tagged everywhere I look as "Nut Shot" and for good reasons.

Cards Can't Catch A Break...

Sucks to be the Cards right now...I think they are an injury away from having LaRussa come back and play the field!

Random Thought...

While reading an interview with Naveen Andrews (of the greatest show on TV..LOST) over at E!.com's Watch With Kristen section I got to thinking after this question....

Steve Jones, the former Sex Pistol, guided you to your first AA meeting. How did you get to know him?

I met him at a dinner party in L.A., and I was shocked to meet somebody who had been in that band who was not completely drugged out. I found that really intriguing, and it made me think, "If he's done it, then maybe I've got a chance."--Naveen Andrews

My thought is....what does that second "A" stand for in AA?

Happy Day!

Enjoy Friday the 13th!

God...I am really looking for things to do today!!

D-Bag of the Week (possibly the Month)

Well it has been a few weeks since we last had a D-Bag of the Week winner. I have been busy getting things in order for a move to Arizona at the end of the month.

But, when I heard this story I knew this tool needed to be called out again. I would have felt bad if I hadn't had a chance to get my two cents in on a guy who, in my humble opinion, comes in a close second to the "incest dad" of a few months ago as the biggest D-Bag I have ever read about.

So way to go...former Lance Cpl. David Motari!!
YOU ARE A GIANT BAG OF DOUCHE!!

Mexican Father's Day Vacation Anyone?

Associated Press,
(June 12, 2008)

ESCOBEDO, Mexico - Men in the northern Mexican town of Escobedo are likely to have a happy Father's Day, thanks to a mayor who is handing out free Viagra and condoms.

Mayor Margarita Martinez says the handouts are part of a campaign aimed at raising awareness about male health problems.

Martinez say a strong family "requires a healthy man, and a healthy sex life is part of general health."

The campaign includes a team of doctors and nurses who give free health exams and determine which men could be given the pills, which are donated by pharmacies. Thursday's handout was arranged to coincide with Father's Day.

Security guard Jose Isabel Rico was among the recipients.

"Of course I'm going to use the pills," he said. "We'll see what they do."

R. Kelly GUILTY

Of pissing me off...but not of Child Porn Charges! A jury in Chicago has just acquitted the "Trapped in the Closet" singer of all charges relate to his alleged sex tape.
Not that I really care one way or the other...but the moving mole defense is almost as funny as: "If the glove don't fit...you must acquit" -- God Bless Johnnie Cochrane.

Which fight is better???

Zambrano -vs- Barrett?

Ramirez -vs- Youkilis

I have to give extra points for the Ramires fight since it was in the game that James Shields plunked CoCo Crisp!

Good-Bye (and good-riddance)

News sources have confirmed that, Citing a pattern of behavior that is detrimental to the team....

The Chicago Bears have cut Running Back Cedric Benson.

Don't let the training camp door hit ya on the ass on the way out!

If you wouldnt mind leaving the football and jersey in the trash on the way out of the building that would be great!

Seems that drunken boating and drunken driving charges are just too much for the Bears to deal with!

What a shocker!! Well, really...no. As soon as the word came down last week that he had been arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence (or whatever the Texas equivelant is) i knew he was finished as a Bear.

Since they didn't give Tank Johnson a chance to plead his case after his arrest (and he turned out to not even be drunk!) I had a feeling that it was only a matter of time until Chicago had their office staff run out and buy some pink paper to give Benson his walking slip.

That being said...I think the Jets need a new RB!!

Sulking over...Time for FUN...

Now that I have finished my introspective...self loathing period of the day, time to look at something that has me a little more excited!

ABC to premeire: I Survived a Japanese Game Show!

From the website: "I Survived A Japanese Game Show has begun shooting in Japan and will premiere TUESDAY, JUNE 24 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET) on ABC. This unscripted reality/game show takes an eye-opening, behind-the-scenes look at 10 Americans - many of whom have never traveled outside the United States -- who are whisked away to Japan and compete in the ultimate Japanese game show...with hilarious results. The final winner will take home $250,000. Guiding the American players through their stay in Japan will be Host/Interpreter Tony Sano (Spring Break in Japan, Kamen Rider: Dragon Knight), an American actor who is fluent in Japanese; a house mother and resident pot stirrer, Mamasan; and the witty Game Show Host Rome Kanda (Pink Panther, Saturday Night Live), who leads the contestants through all of the zany challenges."

or if we are lucky maybe we will get to see some poor american schmuck get abused on something similar to my favorite Japanese Game Show of All Time... SILENT LIBRARY!

A Guy can dream!!

Move West Young Man...

So I just realized that I am about to leave Illinois for one last...last time! Barring the state of Arizona being listed as a wasteland and off limits to the general public, I don't think I am ever coming back!

It's kind of a strange feeling now that I am thinking about it!

When I moved to California I always knew that I would be back to this area to see my parents. But, now that I am moving to AZ at the same time as my parents...and with my sister being out there already! I don't know if I will find a whole lot of reason to come rolling back though central Illinois.

Unless my friends decide to stay around here...which is looking less and less likely, I don't see a whole lot of vacation trips to Central Illinois.

Not sure why I got thinking about that...but, I did!

Blagh....

How is it that I am still about four weeks away from moving to Arizona and I am feeling stressed?

I have nothiing to pack really. My whole room will fit into like four rubbermaid tub, and the trunk of my car!

I guess it's the whole, "Still haven't heard back on my job!" front. Seems like it won't be a problem to transfer to AZ but...until I hear a solid YES your on our schedule, it's a little strange.

I would like to say my move to Cali taught me something about moving with no job! But, we will see!

Talk about your "Critical System Failure"

Astronauts on the International space station are dealing with the loss of a vital piece of equipment...the Space Toilet!

Seems the bastard broke down and that has caused a little problem for those aboard the ship. I personally have never tried to take a crap in zero gravity...but I would guess that it isn't as funny as it sounds!

Currently, according to MSNBC, "Until then, the current hardware — and the supply of "Apollo bags" for fecal collection — may have to suffice. And if previous experience is any guide, the Russian engineers and cosmonauts will find McGyver-type solutions to make it work."

I love the fact that the phrase, "McGyver-tpye solutions" found its way into an MSNBC story. What I love more is the fact that they spelled MacGyver wrong!

Note the correct version is with a Mac (not a Mc). Just saying!

Chuck Norris Pt. 2 -- Chuck Vs Bruce Lee

You have to love how fake the background is!

Chuck Norris Pt. 1 -- Chuck on Chuck...

If I am going to have a horrible Nazi movie trailer on my site...posted on Memorial day of all times...I have to balance it out with Chuck Norris...(First of Two videos)

Chuck on Chuck...

Worst movie EVER...

Sometimes you say something is the worst ____ ever...usually you are being overly dramatic. Not here....This is one of the top THREE worst movies of ALL TIME...However horrible you think the movie looks from the trailer, know this.

IT IS 1000 TIMES WORSE

if you feel the need to purchase it...and you shouldn't (take it from me) they can be purchased on Bestbuy.com

On a side note...the other two movies in the "SS Hell Pack" are the other top three!

T-Shirts...

Gotta love the two T-Shirts I saw the other day...

Ameircan Idol?

The question is: "If no one watches the finale is that person still your American Idol?"

Next year I want a contest for "America's Most Villafied"....pick out the most hated person in America...

Sounds like a show that would slide in nicely at FOX

Reading is hard...

Ever glanced at a headline and thought...wow, that's odd! Only to find out that you apparently didn't read it right at first glance?

That just happened to me...

I thought the headline read: Officer's Breast Feeds Victims

Not knowing what the hell that was about I thought, "wow, gotta read that story!"

What the headline actually said was: Officer Breast Feeds Victims

Equally a strange headline out of context...actually...kinda strange in context too!

D-Bag of the Week

We have a pair who get to share this weeks award....and the nice part is that they also share the story too!

BOULDER, Colo. - It wasn't exactly pistols at 30 paces, but police say a security company supervisor and a restaurateur shot each other with Tasers in a "bonehead" confrontation over parking....full story.

On a funny note...this was found on azcentral in the "Buzz" section.

Pepsi Stuff...Here's your $90 DVD

I love promotions that have you save points to get "free" stuff....

Pepsi Stuff is the nuts right now! You can't compete with the combo of Pepsi and Amazon. Coke rewards has nothing on this combo.

Gotta love the fact that for ONLY 90 pepsi points you can get a DVD!! Or if you really want to stretch your points you can get a season of many TV shows on DVD...for ONLY 90 Points..

Let's examine the cost of your Free DVD:

90 points off of 20oz bottles (1pt each) 90 bottles X $1.30 each = $117
90 points off of 12 packs (2pts per pack) 45 12 packs X $3.00 each = $135
90 points off of 24 packs (4pts per pack) 23 24 packs X $7.00 each (on sale!) = $168

Regular priced DVD $24.99 (on the HIGH side)
Regular priced TV on DVD $53.99 (general price)

So...I get the fact that these "FREE" prizes are set to help you get something out of drinking the products that Pepsi rolls out the points on....but that is kinda sick. And this is coming from a guy who is sitting on 560 pepsi points....you do the math!

Would you like fries with that?

Coming soon to a Things JK Eats Blog near you....I DARE YOU!! For the record this is the Burger King on North Prospect in Champaign, IL.

You got Knocked the F-ck out!

My guess is that Suge Knight was dumb enough to ask this "barber" for the old Wesley Snipes, Passenger 57 Fade and that's what got him the ass whoopin' earlier in the week.

But seriously...who the Frack thinks its a good idea to cold cock Suge "Mutha Phukin' " Knight. I can't tell you a lot about the state of Hip Hop these days...and "The Row" isn't what it used to be...but seriously!

Somewhere, behind a locked door...with the lights out...under the covers...still sitting in his own urine...Vanilla Ice is laughing.

***Wiki entry...It was widely reported that Van Winkle had been threatened and assaulted by Death Row Records CEO Marion "Suge" Knight, who had demanded that royalties for "Ice Ice Baby" be paid to Mario "Chocolate" Johnson, a Dallas rapper and former associate of Knight who claimed that he had co-written the single.

The story is that assault included being hung upside down off of a 15th story balcony...who's laughing now!***

Can you Hear me now?

Damn...I want to know what cell service this guy had?

Turns out he was arrested when his Southwest flight landed in Dallas....because he wouldn't get off his cell phone...while the plane was in flight! Ironically, "Jones did not immediately return a phone call from The Associated Press seeking comment."

I can't get a signal in my freaking basement sometimes and this jack ass is getting mid flight service?! Hope he had nationwide roaming!

I survived the weekend...

Granted I didn't have a whole lot of doubt about making it through. But, It was more eventful than I thought it would be...by that I mean I actually did something...one day!

GO CUBS!!

Really there was only one minor near death experience on the way home from the game. But, that was the cars fault! We were undecided on Wendy's or White Castle....and the passenger seat made a split second decision!!

I have to say that I love driving in downtown Chicago...esecially when I am not the one doing the driving.

The one thing I realized is that there is one job, hands down, that I would never take....Window washer on a high rise!

Those guys are Fracking Nuts!

Must say that is a job I would rather leave to someone else!

I tried to see how many washers were out as we drove down Lakeshore Drive on the way to Wrigley..and the answer was...Too Many.

I would love to know what the actual statistics are on the number of window washers who have to be saved by the Chicago Fire Department each year!

I have a feeling that the number is staggering!

Once we finally got to Wrigley I decided to jump past the line to get you picture taken with Speed Racer (had it been Speed Buggy I may have stopped) to jump right to the "Mr. Cub" Ernie Banks statue.

My only regret is that I didn't head over to the other side of the park and snag of shot of the Harry Carey statue!

Not too bad a shot seeing as it was taken (as were all these photos) with my iphone. Great device....crappy camera! No zoom...no Video...but it serves its purpose!

Once we got inside, I have to say, I didn't think I was going to enjoy the game too much since I seats were WAY under the overhang.

Usually I like to sit in the Bleechers or down by the field. But, these seats were actually pretty good. Would have been great if the rain had come in...instead it was just BALLS COLD!

Nothing like baseball on May 9th in Chicago when the wind chill is 48 degrees. Wouldn't have been a problem if I had more than 20minutes notice that I was going to the game. Thank God I wore a long sleeve button up that day!

If I had any patience I would have stitched those together and try to make a better shot of the field...but I am too lazy to even attempt that!

Gotta say it was a great day at the ball park...Cubs won, I didn't freeze (or spend $100 on a hoodie) and Kerry Wood looked awesome in the 9th.

Finally two of my favorite shots at the ballpark...the first is Iconic ... Welcome to Wrigley!
Shot two is of the start of the line of smokers...who obviously don't believe the No Smoking sign applies to them...if there was a bounty on Smoking Ban violators...Wrigley would be the place to hang out!
It's not clear...but the No Smoking sign is right there on the pillar to the left of the guys head... either he can't read, or he doesn't care. I like to think he is stupid and can't read!

Cubs update!!

D.Lee home run to help put the Cubs up 3-1 bottom of the 8th. Gotta love this game! Great game..as long as the Cubs don't blow it in the 9th

Final game update via twitter. This live blogging is killing my iPhone battery.

Cubs...are killing me

Still plenty of time left in this one but these bums are really killing me. Oh and did I mention that it is about 52 with a good stiff breeze? This really doesn't feel like MAY! Cubs are now up 2-1 top of 7

cubs update

three innings in and the cubs are down 1-0. But, on the bright side I just had ballpark frank and an old style... Goodbye $10.00

Go Cubs Go

On the road to see the Cubs and Diamondbacks at Wrigley. What a nice surprise after the week I've had at work.

Guess I will try to live blog from the game.

I'm a Whore...

I really am a whore for whatever seems to be the new IT thing (as long as it won't cost me an arm and a leg).

When looking for a new car I was looking for a few things:

1) Great Gas Milage
2) Cool Factor (for a decent price)
3) Fun add ons

So I went with a 2008 Ford Focus 30+ MPG, decent price and look, Microsoft SYNC system and a free iphone!

When it came time get into gaming I had to grab the xbox 360 (which was the pimp shit at the time) but, I had to wait until I could get a great deal through Microsoft!

I have successfully upgraded my Ipod everytime a new model has come out...(sucker for apple).

Now I have jumped on the new blog fad...TWITTER. Not really 100% sure how committed I am to using it...but it could come in handy should I ever find myself thrown into an Egyptian jail.

Better to be safe than sory I guess!

D-Bag of the Week...

Well, really this is long over due...and by long I mean it should have been the day after the story broke last month! But, none the less we have a man who, in my opinion, beats out the guy who let his girlfriends ass grow around the toilet seat.

I can only be speaking of one man... Josef Fritz

AKA: Incest Dad (CNN.COM's title...not mine)

If you have no idea who I am talking about here is the short version of his story: He decided to tell his wife that their 18 year old daughter ran off to join a cult (or some such rubbish) when she was, in fact, locked up in the basement where he was keeping her as a love slave...and fathering seven kids with her! Nuff Said.

Congrats Josef...you are officially king of all Douche bags (probably never to be topped!).

TV Quote....

Not sure why this quote makes me laugh so much! But, here is the quote that keeps me laughing over and over right now!

"Ugh...it's going to take a shoebox full of blow to get me through this dreck."

I have to laugh my ass evetime I watch this episode...Just thought I would share..

I saw the sign (and it cracked my ass up)

Really, this is just more proof that Nash Bridges is one of the coolest shows of all time.

It is a little darker than I would like..but the sign says: Need Money for Pot, Booze, and Hookers, atleast I'm honest!

Somthing Wicked (haaard) This Way Comes...

***Please read title of blog with a strong Boston accent for max effect***

When hanging out downtown Champaign you never know what...or who you will run into!

Too much fun...

So I just had the chance to do something that I have always wanted to do....rip my father, Don Shields, a new one in public! But, in a good way!

Pops is retiring from teaching at the end of this year and the teachers thought it would be a good idea to have me "Roast" him during the teachers development day today! I had a great time...and even better...I got it on tape!

Not sure how long I went..but if I can get it on my computer I may have to post it here so that everyone who had my dad as a teacher/coach can enjoy!

D-Bag of the Week

Hey Gary, this week the D-Bag finger is pointing straight at you!

Last week you decided to jump ship from one, if not the, most successful shows on TV.

Now I can understand a want to branch out. Good Luck with that man!

But, this week you seem to have out done yourself.

In the past it has just been assaulting paparazzi....or just being caught sounding stupid by TMZ. But, this time you have gone far enough to be the new "winner" of the week. CNN.com, along with TMZ and other outlets, are reporting that Gary "Don't Call me Warrick" Dourdan, was arrested by Palm Springs Police for, "possession of narcotics and dangerous drugs".

The laundry list of drugs includes: Heroin, Coke, Ecstacy, miscellaneous prescription drugs and paraphernalia....really he is just a hooker girlfriend away from being Tom Sizemore!

It would appear that it is no longer safe to sleep in you car, parked on the wrong side of the street, with the lights on, after a long night drinking and packing tons of drugs. Damn the man for keeping you down Gary

Good luck with your life after CSI! Maybe you can use the excuse that you were doing some research for an upcoming role and see if that gets you out of jail.

D-Bag of the week (Last week anyway)

Again, in a case of better late then never we have last weeks winner.

I alway love stories like this that prove that even the dumbest person you know is a little smarter than this guy.

A 19 year-old was arraigned Thursday on a charge of aggravated robbery and ordered held on $50,000 bond....but for the real fun read the story out of Cleveland.

In my honest opinion I say you just keep driving...but that's just me!

New (old) sex tapes...

Seems like as long as video cameras have been around...someone has been filming the act of sex...

Pam and Tommy Lee, Pam and Vince Neil, Paris, Rob Lowe, Tonya Harding (vomit)...and a never ending string of at home porn "stars".

But, seems the tapes go a little further back than just the last decade. The New York Post a few weeks back reported that a tape of Marilyn Monroe giving head to an unidentified man (rumored to be JFK) sold at auction for $1.5 million.

Now it seems TMZ along with the Associated Press are reporting that a new celebrity sex tape has surfaced. This time the star is from the world of music....

Drumroll please....and excuse me while I kiss the sky...

Jimi Hendrix's clothes have left the building...but it seems he kept his headband on....gotta stay real I guess!

testing ...

just a test...blogging on the fly! Fun

WTF???

Here is a story too good not to share:

Florida considers ban on Ornamental Testicles

Have to say thanks to my sister Debi for sending me the link to that story!

I don't want to ruin the surprise..but incase you are more of a visual type person...here

Is that an iphone on your hip?

Really this is just me bragging..but I finally got my iphone in the mail last friday. Seems that buying a 2008 Ford Focus has its benefits...great SYNC system, 30+ mpg, oh..and a free iphone!

Three days into ownership of the phone and I have already forgotten about my 8gb ipod touch..not getting rid of the touch..but not using it a lot either!

A few of my (least) favorite things..

Windows 2000 -- not sure why, but it is a giant pain in my ass right now!

Computers in general -- pretty sure it has to do with the fact that I have been dealing with two major crashes at work in the last two weeks.

Now I remember why I hate Windows 2000...no support, no recovery disks for a product that is almost 9 years old...and when it fails...it is final!

Radio station is running on spit and duct tape right now. Knock on wood everything should hold together until our engineer gets back for the hard drive repair!

Nash MF Bridges..

I don't understand a lot of the voice over...but I did catch the line, "Don Johnson is THE Man" gotta love that!

It's On...

I really hate myself right now. It has been a screwed up week to say the least!

Friday, my great aunt Barb died, and the computer at work Crashed AGAIN.

Monday, Audio Card on the Sat. system at the Radio Station died...AGAIN.

Tuesday-Now, Scott Studio system has a full on system crash!

To make matters worse I have to work tonight.

For the past three and a half years that wasn't a big deal...but now I have to kick around at work pretending to care about what is going on...just so I can run home and hope that I can download the new Episode of Lost (since I forgot to set my DVR).

It's a strange feeling to not care about a show for four years then being all pissed that I am going to have to wait a few extra hours to watch said show! I guess I will have to fill my time with a little Nash Bridges! lol...

New Cub same as the old Cub?

Sitting here at the radio station with the Cubs -vs- Mets game on mute...looked up and thought, "wow! that guy looks a lot like Sammy Sosa!"

Sure enough it was Slammin' Sammy himself sitting in the first few rows behind the Cubs (I believe) dugout.

My only question is does this have any deeper, darker meaning? Could the Cubs be looking to add another power bat? Would they dare screw with team chemestry to bring back Sosa?

GOD I HOPE NOT!

The Way Home...

New addiction...same as the old addiction (with a twist)!

Since I finally got caught up on Lost last week I decided that I needed something to take up the six hour slot I had been using for Lost...so what does a guy do? He drops $40 on a new xbox game.

So, I ran out and scooped up a copy of Lost: Via Domus (the way home)

Overall I would rate it an okay game so far. The one problem I have with it is that the amount of load screens is obscene! A better flow on the game would make it 10 times better. But, for a fan of the show it is not a bad game.

Well worth the cash to help fill the downtime between episodes.

Politics, Politics, Politics...

For those lucky few living across the pond, who don't have to deal with the level of political farce that we in the states deal with, this one's for you.

Sometime in the near future you may have the honor of being represented by MP Eddie Izzard! Do you hear that? It's European politics getting a little more interesting.

Just for Laughs...

Tommy Tiernan....good stuff..just found out about him via browsing the DVD shelves at Best Buy!

D-Bag of the Week...

Felony damage to property usually isn't enough to merit mention here..but if you do it with a little flair?

Such is the case of Jeremy McIntosh...

"McCabe said McIntosh was wearing "facial makeup, lipstick, blue Capri pants, red 'flip-flops,' a flowery blouse and a matching flowery women's bra." McIntosh told deputies he is homeless and wanted to go to jail because he had nowhere else to go."

So he applied for a job at Detroit lingerie store...was denied...and then drove his car though the front of the store.

So this whole ordeal makes me wonder? How does he have money for make-up, a whole outfit, and more importantly...GAS MONEY?

Broke Trek

I couldn't help myself....this was just too damn funny!

Indiana Jones 4 (the alternate version)

Hard to believe they had time to film two different movies.....one of which will never be seen on the big screen...here is the trailer! Enjoy HAHAHAHAHAHA!

The Pope has landed...

Now that the Pope has landed in the United States and is meeting with President Bush it begs the question....

"Will Bush ask to try on the Pope's funny hat?"
